Clean Beauty Skincare Tips

Carina's Studio is now offering signature and express clean beauty facial services. As a master cosmetologist, I trained to do a plethora of beauty services in school. However, it wasn't until my skin turned on me that I really started revisiting and applying the techniques I learned in cosmetology school. With 3 children, who has time? I realized, I had to make time or my skin was only going to get worse. These are pics of me and Maya's before and afters y'all. It's gotten even better, but this skin journey is real for me. I've had my bouts with hormonal acne, hyper pigmentation and inflammation. Hopefully some of these tips can help you care for your beautiful skin—especially as we face cooler temperatures.
Tips to care for your skin at home:
Change pillowcases weekly. Every 2-3 days if you have acne prone skin.
Consider switching to mulberry silk pillowcases to help prevent fine lines and wrinkles and protect your hair.
Sleep pillows for side sleepers have recesses for the face to reduce the 6-8 hour face smush that can contribute to laugh lines.
If your towel is across from your toilet, remember to close the lid before you flush or consider a new location. Airborne bacteria can land on your towels. Eew right?!

Drink plenty of water and pay attention to your body to see what foods may be triggering inflammation . Common culprits can be sugar, milk chocolate and refined foods. Look at replacing it for a healthier option. Ex. Soda for a probiotic Passion fruit kambucha or swapping gatorade for fruit infused coconut water!
